Hi,
I am Lisa, a volunteer for the HRRRF. Ava is a very special girl. She is an Arabian mare and is very smart. I have been in training to work with her to give her tasks to occupy her mind. She is very alert and notices everything that is going on at the rescue. Ava and I play a "touching game". I walk her to a post , table, gate or fence. I touch the object and encourage her to also "touch". When she touches with her muzzle, I reward her with encouraging words and a pat. Once, when my husband Gary and I were working in the field, I moved a tool kit so that Ava would not get into anything she shouldn't. She immediately came over and "touched" the tool kit...thinking I was playing the game with her. Ava is a beautiful horse and deserves all the love you can give her.
